This suit in chocolate brown wool tweed is a representative example of Lilli Ann at its height in the late 40s and early 50s. The jacket features dramatic design elements such as structured padding in the shoulders, a close fit through the waist, a mink-trimmed collar, and an exaggerated peplum. The simple skirt is a knee-length, form-fitting pencil shape. Though this suit was produced for the ready-to-wear market, the tailoring throughout is consistent with that seen on fine couture.
